Kimberly Russell

Kimberly Russell is a nationally-recognized litigator with deep expertise in complex litigation, civil rights, child welfare, and family law. She founded The Russell Law Firm, PLLC, with a clear mission: to champion the rights of those whose voices often go unheard, including families, children, and communities impacted by governmental and corporate negligence.

Kimberly’s litigation experience spans more than ten jurisdictions, both in federal and state courts. She has successfully represented clients in high-stakes cases, including product liability claims against corporations like Johnson & Johnson. She has also championed the constitutional rights of children impacted by the public water contamination happening in Flint, Michigan, Jackson, Mississippi, and Benton Harbor, Michigan. Her work has contributed to settlements in excess of $250 million.

Her career began at the Mississippi Supreme Court, where she worked closely with Justice Dawn Beam to spearhead a statewide initiative that reformed Mississippi’s child welfare system, contributing to the safe reduction of the state’s foster care population by 30%. This foundational experience ignited Kimberly’s passion for protecting sacred liberty interests, particularly in cases where the criminal and child welfare systems intersect.

Building on this foundation, Kimberly served as the MDT Enhancement Coordinator for the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Mississippi. There, she led efforts to standardize responses to felony child abuse across 82 counties, providing training and support to judges, prosecutors, and law enforcement officers. This experience honed her ability to navigate complex legal systems and deliver effective advocacy, skills she now brings to her practice.
